The Florida Sigma Chapter Education Fund exists to support SAE training and leadership development for Florida Sigma chapter, by providing financial assistance to brothers who are selected to attend Leadership School, DeVotie Ritual Institute, SAE’s Inner Circle, and the biennial SAE National Convention. The Fund is maintained and administered by the Greater Pensacola Area SAE Alumni Association, which determines the amount of financial support to provide each participant. Support is offered to participants who are selected by the chapter to attend SAE’s training and education (including but not limited to those listed above), upon successful completion of training.
Your generosity directly impacts the lives of our members by providing meaningful opportunities for personal and professional growth through leadership development and educational programs.

Frequently Asked Questions:
- How much does it cost to attend training? The cost varies, due to several factors – Registration cost, travel cost, lodging, and most meals. The total generally runs approximately $1000 per attendee. (Alumni do not participate in this fund.)
- Does the Alumni Association help? Yes, but the Association generally has resources to partially pay for one brother. While we’re not advocating a “free ride” (we want participants to have “skin in the game”), the total cost makes it prohibitive for collegiate brothers to pay on their own.
- Does Active Chapter help? Yes, but their funding is severely limited, due to the costs to run the chapter.
- How does this benefit the Chapter and the Alumni Association? Numerous ways. We get back a brother who is more knowledgeable about the fraternity and leadership, and what he should be as a brother. We get a brother filled with zeal and inspired to make our chapter and the fraternity better. And, we get a brother who will be more dedicated throughout his life to SAE and the Sons of Minerva; one who will then reach out and help his younger brothers in the same way. I have witnessed immediate improvements in brothers who have attended SAE training.
- How much do we need? Every gift is valuable. More directly to the point, as much as possible. The more we have in the fund, the more good we can do. If we could raise the fund to $10,000, we could send 3 brothers to each training event. Florida Sigma is small now, but they are aggressively recruiting for the fall semester. The chapter could easily double in size. We seriously need to get these young men in training, have them in contact with the “Billy Leveres” of today, and start building True Gentlemen. The House Corporation is building a first class house, let’s build a first class chapter to fill it!
- What is the money used for? ONLY for SAE Education and Training, and only reimbursed upon successful completion of the training (SAE has strict attendance rules for completion). The Alumni Association will ensure the funds will not be commingled with chapter operating funds, and will not be used for any other purpose.
